MTO-Approved BDE Online Course Overview
Course Structure:
- 20 hours of Online Classes (e-learning)
- 10 hours of HomeLink (homework assignments)
- 10 hours of In-Car Training ( Free Pick-Up & Drop-Off in Mississauga )
Course Requirements:
- Completion Certificate issued upon successful completion:
- 70% or higher on the Online BDE Course
- Passing grade on the road assessment test
- Service Ontario provides proof of course completion after successful completion of the BDE Course: 30 hours of online training and 10 hours in Car Lessons.
Important Policies:
- Online Course Security: Students are responsible for protecting their login credentials for the online portion.
- In-Car Lessons:
The in-car session is for 60 minutes.
- Rescheduling or cancellation must be informed 24 hours in advance; otherwise, the lesson fee will be charged.
In-car lessons may begin after completing 30 hours of online classes.

Driver’s License Requirement
Students are required to bring their valid driver’s license to every in-car lesson. Failure to present a driver’s license
will result in the lesson being cancelled, and the full one-lesson fee will be charged.
- "The Driver’s License History provides proof of successful completion of and graduation from a BDE course and is widely recognized by the insurance industry as proof of course completion. BDE Graduates with a Driver’s License History may be eligible for an insurance discount."
Additional Benefits:
- G2 Road Test Eligibility Reduction: Completing this course reduces the waiting period for the G2 road test from 12 months to 8 months.

- Enrollment in the program costs $200.
- Additional in-car lessons can be added for an extra charge.
Course Duration:
- All components of the BDE Course must be completed within 1Year of the start date.
